			<description><![CDATA[The Fritz Pollard Alliance joins the NFL and the rest of our nation's football community in mourning the passing of Duke Babb. Duke lived a wonderful football life, playing the game the way it was meant to be played and enjoying success in high school, college, and the professional ranks.  In the NFL, he played for the San Francisco 49ers, the Dallas Cowboys, and the Houston Oilers, and after he retired, he unveiled an extraordinary ability to analyze the game as a scout and assessor of talent. 			<description><![CDATA[As a 1st year scout working for Duke I had nothing but tremendous respect for him. He set the bar for true attention to detail &amp; as our leader he lived that. I remember calling from my apartment for my 1st Monday check-in &amp; got my time zones messed up. Trust me, that day forward I knew his standard &amp; the expectation, which was excellence. There was no gray &amp; he did everything possible to coach us daily on how we could better serve the member clubs. My happiest day as an NFS Scout was when my IPR wasnt marked up with red pen &amp; just said... good report!.  It meant the world to me.  As tough &amp; demanding as Duke was, when we had our very first child, I told him I had a baby girl. He beamed back at me saying you had yourself a Daddys-baby! I use that saying to this day because its so true, (especially after having sons). The term Mans-Man &amp; Football-man get thrown around but Duke was the epitome to me. So sad to hear the news, our world needs more people like him. Love you Duke &amp; may Gods peace rest on your family.
