Obituary for Denis Vergil Pringle

Denis Vergil Pringle passed away in the early morning hours of December 1st, 2019 at home under hospice care at the age of 62 years. He was born on January 5th, 1957 in Norman, Oklahoma to Roy and Ruth Pringle. He spent his early years on his parent’s dairy farm outside of Pink, Oklahoma, where he not only helped with milking the cows, he helped his father in the cabinet shop, and in the family’s vegetable garden. A lover of nature, he explored the surrounding area on foot for many miles around the farm, and continued to explore the countryside wherever his journeys took him throughout his life.

He earned his living as a stone and brick mason, as well as a painter. He was an artist at heart, enjoyed physically working, and was an avid fisherman. He made friends easily and helped anyone he thought needed a hand up and out of difficult situations. The produce of his flower and vegetable gardens were readily shared with friends and family. One of the ways Denis demonstrated his love for friends and family was to collect armfuls of wildflowers and create arrangements to brighten their days.

He was united in marriage to Marneth Weaver on May 17th, 2014 in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Living on an acreage outside of Yale, Oklahoma, they enjoyed many mutual interests – woodworking, gardening, decorative painting. Rocks collected from their travels were incorporated into their flowerbeds and koi pond.

He is survived by his wife Marneth of the home, sister Karen Ruth Redding and husband Glen, niece Carrie Hickerson, husband Gary and their children Chloe and Sam, nephew Corey Redding, wife Courtney and their children Paisley and Casen, sister-in-law Karen Sue Pringle, niece Taralee McReynolds, her husband Jarrod and their children Karyss, Jordan, and Jonah, nephew Travis Pringle, his wife Kim and their children Addison and Breckyn, niece Timber Hawkins, her husband Toby and their children Liam, Lilli, and Max, and numerous cousins.

Denis was preceded in death by his parents, brother Mark, grandparents Frank and Marietta Pringle, Byrd and Vister Wilkins, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, December 12th, 2019, 3:00pm at University Heights Baptist Church, 323 S. Knoblock, Stillwater, Oklahoma.
